Design Principles - Final Design

Wow! It has been a very long process from the preliminary sketch draft to the final product. Many, many changes were made. It being the long road and the road is at an end, I can't say I am truly satisfied with it. Since I am not the client, I can not be the one that particular. This is a learning process.

Before, I go further in the thesis part of this posting, I wanted to tell everyone that I have made a relatively life changing decision in career and life. Most people know my career aspects; that I want to be an Art teacher, Artist, Minister, Museum Curator, and Graphic Designer. After speaking with my wonderful Academic Advisor, Lori, she encouraged me to go further in with my education. By getting my Bachelor's degree, I will not only secure my Minor in Art History to be a Curator but I will be able to take some Internships to give me the Job Experience to get my foot in the door to be a Graphic Designer. The only Degree I will need left is Basic Education degree. So that when I figure out what career I want most, I can achieve it without any flaws in the plan. You may be wondering on the Minister career. God is a passion never a career, it is a life choice that when entered, you enter it when you are called. I will know when my time is for that. Theology can be studied as a past time until my calling. "Don't let the fear of striking out prevent you from playing the game!" So I will be taking 6 months off after I graduate December of this year and going back to continue and get my BA.

Okay, now back to the final, I had to make a few changes. A 75% opacity bar under the title and to make the title consistent with the back title. Then to add Location, Date, Time, and Proceed to the bottom 75% opacity bar. Moving the Musical, Movie, etc text up and shrinking the We are the voice text.

On the back of the Postcard, it changed dramatically. It was meant to be a folio but the images I picked didn't give it that feel. So I designed it to be a postcard. The background image was intrusive to the design. It was suggested to make a purple to white gradient. I did but held the image there with about 20% opacity so if you look hard enough, you can see it. I added the mailer information and stamp. The black bars are covering my address and my telephone number. Sorry, I don't need stalkers. (lol) I was told that my typefaces and design needed to be consistent. I used only DearJoe4 and Dejavu for both sides. I worried about legibility. I cut a lot of details in the Events area on the priors to make it legible.

Thank you Cara for being my Grammatical Queen...
